OCIO Intelligence Data Methodology

How OCIO Intelligence distinguishes sources, calculates displayed metrics, and handles unavailable data.

What is the OCIO Intelligence data methodology?

The OCIO Intelligence methodology separates regulatory records, provider-published website statements, reviewed firm-submitted information, and visible data gaps so users can see what each displayed value represents. Regulatory information comes from read-only OCIO and Form ADV-derived records; linked SEC filings remain authoritative. Provider website and Form ADV brochure claims are displayed with their source, evidence, date, and confidence rules when available. Firm-submitted content is published only after OCIO Intelligence review and retains its approval date. Values are not filled from unrelated fields when a reviewed source is missing. Reported dates and approval dates provide the as-of context for individual facts, while OCIO Intelligence may refresh upstream data more frequently. Comparisons show differences in displayed values and do not create provider scores or recommendations. Users should open the linked source before relying on a claim and verify suspected discrepancies against the official filing.

Where does OCIO Intelligence data come from?

OCIO Intelligence facts come from labeled source layers so regulatory records, provider statements, and missing information are not treated as equivalent.

  • Regulatory: read-only values from shared OCIO records and Form ADV-derived records, with filing or record dates when available.
  • Provider published: statements extracted from official provider websites or current Form ADV brochures, displayed with source links and evidence when available.
  • Data TODO: a visible gap where no reviewed source is connected; these cells are not inferred from unrelated fields.

How often is OCIO Intelligence data refreshed?

OCIO Intelligence is designed to reflect refreshed upstream records daily. Individual regulatory dates and firm-submitted approval dates remain the authoritative as-of context for a specific value.

If the shared OCIO database is not configured or cannot answer a request, the API and public screens return an explicit unavailable state rather than substituting synthetic provider facts.

How are AUM and comparison values calculated?

Provider AUM displays the current reported OCIO amount available to OCIO Intelligence. Historical AUM charts use comparable reported annual observations. Client-type shares divide reported assets for a category by the provider or filtered-market reported total; missing categories are not redistributed.

Comparisons do not create a score or recommendation; highlighted differences reflect only displayed values.

What are OCIO Intelligence’s coverage limits?

Not every provider has the same filing history, client-type detail, approved supplemental profile, or linked document coverage. Filters and aggregates operate on records with the required reported fields, and coverage signals identify some of those limitations.

Unreviewed profile values, performance, fees, and risk analytics are excluded until attributable sources are connected. Reviewed firm-submitted performance, risk metrics, fees, mandate-size values, and provider types retain explicit provenance and verification limits.

How should users verify or correct a value?

The application never edits externally owned regulatory tables. Users should verify suspected discrepancies against the linked official filing and treat that filing as authoritative.

Which primary regulatory sources can users check?

Users can search the SEC Investment Adviser Public Disclosure system for an adviser and review filed Form ADV records. The SEC also publishes information about accessing current and historical Form ADV data.
